Eligibility for A Star Scholarship Singapore 2012
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the A Star Scholarship :
Nationals of India
Born between 1995 and 1997 in the year of application (2011)
Completed Standard 8 in the Year 2011
Possess outstanding academic track record (at least an average of 80% / minimum ‘A’ with
English as first language in the Standard 7 and 8 school examinations.
Possess a high level of oral and written competency in English
Important Dates for A Star Scholarship 2012
Application Period for A Star Scholarship 1 June to 15 July 2011
Selection Test for A Star Scholarship : End August to early September 2011
Selection Interview for A Star Scholarship : End October to early November 2011
Award of Scholarship: Mid to late November 2011
Arrival of Scholar in Singapore: Late December 2011
Candidates short-listed for the selection test/interview will be notified a week before the selection test/interview dates.

Test and Interview for A Star Scholarship 2012 will be conducted at
Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai , Delhi and Mumbai.
Terms and Conditions for A Star Scholarship 2012
Allowance of S$2,200 (Secondary) / S$2,400 (Pre-University) per annum with hostel accommodation
Settling-in allowance of S$400 (once only)
Economy class air passage to Singapore and back to home country upon completion of course
Waiver of school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees)
Waiver of GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level examination fees (once only, if applicable)
Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover
There is no bond attached to the scholarship

Application Procedures
There are 2 modes of application — online or hardcopy application. Each applicant should submit only
ONE application and the online mode is recommended. Please do not send in a hardcopy application
if you have already applied for the scholarship online and vice versa.

If unable to submit an online application, applicants may also print out and send in a copy of the application form (216kb .pdf).
Step 2 [for all applicants]
All applicants are to send certified copies of the following items directly to the Singapore Ministry of Education.
The documents should arrive before the closing date (15 July 2011):
Birth Certificate;
Identity Card / Passport (if any); and
Final Examination Result Slips for the last two years (Standards 7 and 8)
